Meet Dr. Alexia Dewane, DMD
I am Dr. Alexia Dewane, DMD, and I am excited to join Dr. Jeffrey A. Chirillo at Dentistry by Design. As a general dentist, I provide comprehensive dental care with a focus on helping patients achieve and maintain healthy, confident smiles.
Education & Military Service
I grew up in the beautiful state of Wisconsin and earned my Bachelor of Science in Biology from Silver Lake College in Manitowoc in 2009. After graduating, I was commissioned into the U.S. Army and served in Afghanistan from 2012 to 2013 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom as a Female Engagement Team Leader.
During my deployment, I developed an interest in dentistry and discovered the career path I wanted to pursue. After returning to the United States, I transitioned to the Army Reserve while continuing my education.
I went on to earn my Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of New England College of Dental Medicine in Portland, Maine. Following dental school, I returned to active-duty service and was stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
My Approach to Patient Care
I believe exceptional dental care begins with trust, communication, and making patients feel genuinely comfortable. Taking the time to listen to patients' concerns, explain their treatment options, and involve them in decisions about their oral health is an important part of how I practice.
My goal is for every patient to feel heard, informed, and confident in the care they receive.
Beyond Dentistry
Outside of dentistry, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our twins, and our two dogs. Following my husband's retirement from the U.S. Army, our family relocated to beautiful Englewood.
We are quickly falling in love with the Florida lifestyle and enjoy spending time outdoors together. I also have a great passion for gardening and a wide range of plants.
